Settlement & Payouts
This page explains how money flows in wallee join: how a single transaction is split between wallee, the partner and the merchant, and how those splits are settled and paid out.
Settlement-based partner earnings apply to the join platform (ISV) model. In the join account (Affiliate) model the merchant pays wallee directly and your reward is handled commercially (bounty, revenue share or recurring fee) as defined in your contract.
From transaction to allocation
Every transaction processed by one of your merchants is split into allocations — the shares that belong to each participant:
- Merchant net amount — the transaction amount minus all fees.
- Partner allocation — your margin: the difference between the sell rate (what the merchant pays) and the buy rate (what you pay wallee).
- wallee allocation — wallee's fee, computed from your buy rate.
Acquirer and payment-method costs are part of the fee structure defined in the pricing profiles.
Illustrative example
A merchant you onboarded sells an item for CHF 100.00 (figures are illustrative — your actual rates are defined in your pricing profiles):
| Participant | Share |
|---|---|
| Acquirer & scheme | CHF 2.80 |
| Partner (you) | CHF 0.55 (sell rate − buy rate margin) |
| wallee | CHF 0.05 |
| Merchant net | CHF 96.60 |
From allocation to settlement
Individual transactions are gathered into a settlement period — usually one day. At the end of the period, all allocations are summed up per participant and settled:
- The merchant sees a new entry on their Balance page for the settled net amount, followed by the payout to their bank account according to their payout schedule.
- The partner receives the accumulated margin across all their merchants' transactions.
- wallee retains its fees.
Where to see it
- Merchants — Balance page in their portal (or sub-account): one entry per settlement, plus payout records.
- Partners — join dashboard and Balance view of the partner account: settled margins across all merchants, with consolidated reporting.
Reconciliation
Settlements are numbered, so every payout can be traced back to the settlement period and the underlying transactions. For automated reconciliation, retrieve transaction and settlement data via the Web Service API or subscribe to webhooks for settlement events.
