Getting Started as a Partner

This guide walks you through the steps from signing up as a wallee join partner to onboarding your first merchant.

1. Become a join partner

  1. Commercial agreement — you sign a partner contract with wallee covering the model (join account, join platform or both) and your conditions.
  2. Partner activation — wallee enables the join program on your account and configures which partnership types, subscription products and pricing profiles are available to you.
  3. Portal access — the wallee join section appears in your wallee portal. Together with wallee you set up your join admin account.

2. First-time setup

Configure your join settings

Log in to the wallee portal and open Account Settings → wallee join.

Brand the experience

  • Upload your logo and set your brand name.
  • Adjust colours and texts where applicable.
  • (join platform) Decide whether merchants onboard inside your platform or via a hosted onboarding page.

Set your pricing

Depending on what has been agreed and enabled for your account:

  • join account: review the reward model defined in your contract.
  • join platform: configure the sell rates towards your merchants — e.g. transaction markups or additional fees. One pricing profile is set as default.

See Partner Models for how buy and sell rates work.

Choose a default product (join account)

If multiple subscription products are assigned to you, select the default product used when merchants sign up through your links. If no product is preassigned, merchants choose a plan on the wallee pricing page during signup.

Once your join program is activated, onboarding links are generated automatically under Account Settings → Subscriptions & Affiliate links. Verify that the links match your configuration — one link per subscription product and sell-rate pricing profile, plus a generic link to the pricing page if you are eligible to sell products. See Merchant Onboarding for the link types.

3. Onboard merchants

You can onboard merchants in three ways:

  1. Portal (manual) — initiate an onboarding directly from your join dashboard.
  2. Onboarding links (self-service) — generate reusable or merchant-specific links and share them on your website, in emails or in-app.
  3. API (embedded) — create partnerships and submit merchant applications programmatically from your own platform.

See Merchant Onboarding and Onboarding via API for details.

API access & permissions

For API-driven integrations you need an application user with an authentication key. The JOIN_PROGRAM_ACCESS permission controls access to the partnership and partner configuration endpoints.

Authentication uses JSON Web Tokens — see the API Reference for headers, permissions and error handling, and the permission concept for role management.

Your join dashboard

The join dashboard in the portal gives you an overview of all merchants you have onboarded (both models), their onboarding status, transaction volume and your revenue share, plus shortcuts to launch new onboardings, manage links, pricing and branding.
