Payment Contracts
To accept payments, you need a contract. You can either set this up directly through PostFinance Checkout or via one of the many acquirers we work with.
Contract through PostFinance Checkout
If you want to process payments directly through us, register your organization in your PostFinance Checkout account: start the registration.
This is the wallee payments route: one contract with us covers the essential payment methods and gives you a single consolidated settlement. See Wallee Payments for what is included and Onboarding for the process and timeline.
Contract with an external acquirer
The process for external acquirers varies depending on the provider. In our documentation you find guides that walk you step by step through each one: open the processor list, select a processor and open the relevant documentation.
Once the contract is in place, you configure the processor with the credentials you received. See Direct Acquiring for the full set-up path.
Different requirements apply for entering into a contract with an acquirer — such as the merchant's location or the type of business. Please check directly with the respective acquirer for more information.
Which route should you choose?
| Through PostFinance Checkout | Through an external acquirer | |
|---|---|---|
| Contract partner | wallee | The acquirer or PSP |
| Settlement | One consolidated settlement from us | From each acquirer separately |
| Set-up effort | Online onboarding | Contract negotiation per provider |
| Typical reason | Fastest start, single point of contact | Existing contracts, or a provider we do not act as |
Both can be combined — see Payment set-ups in wallee for the comparison of all three set-ups.
